Helping Out
I have decided to do two things in response to the tragedy in the Gulf region. My employer has offered to match dollar-for-dollar any contributions made by us to the American Red Cross for Katrina assistance. Ms. Theo and I have pooled our resources and are making a sizable contribution this morning at our company meeting. I am also going to participate in a study that begins this Sunday on the book of Job. Of all of the Hebrew scriptures, Job, properly studied, demands that we struggle with the reality of suffering in the midst of a life of spiritual purpose. I believe study and understanding can go a long way to creating a positive and productive environment for human growth.
